Great post. I know that feeling of discovering things far too late, my latest is the author Gary Hamel...duh. 

I think the most important point to take away from the idea of Biomimicry is your second one. Nature has done all the R&amp;D we need. Lets not waste more time thinking we can beat it. Here here to giving up the flapping.</description>
