I find it offers me the privilege of looking at my life from a perspective that is pretty much unaccessible from within. My introduction to this was as an exchange student in Japan. My 12 months as a teenager their taught me as much about my home in Australia as it did about Japan. Love to 'look at my life' from Iceland one day!! Karl, so true.
