Meet the Team

Col Duthie

Col’s favourite weekends include cooking for his family and trying to catch a wave. After studying Maths and Education, Col has taught at senior secondary school, worked in community development, as a social entrepreneur and a consultant. He is an enthusiastic self educator who enjoys engaging the latest ideas about how the world works. As the Managing Director of Ergo Consulting, Col provides internal leadership as well as working with other organisations to help them toward greater effectiveness.

He is particularly energised by bringing together diverse groups of people to work through complex problems or engage in conversations about the things that matter most. The end game … a better day at work for individuals and a better future for the world.

Derek Winter

Derek is kept busy with a family of five young children. In between he grabs any chance to watch some soccer or cricket or regular game of squash. Since graduating with an Honours degree in Computer Science, Derek has gained extensive experience both nationally and internationally with a broad range of organisations focusing on enterprise-wide business solutions. Throughout the journey he has progressed from technical roles in design, development and delivery of software solutions through project management and pre-sales, to professional services management, channel management and account management. This background has provided a diverse set of skills which he calls upon as a Director of Ergo Consulting with a focus on business strategy, internal operations and business development.

Maria DiCocco

Maria joined the Ergo team in mid 2008. Her part time role includes office management, admin and support for the directors of the company. She has both education and counseling qualifications and recently spent a number of years working in the community service sector. When not working her favourite thing is to spend time with her partner Col (featured above) and their four children. Good books and good chocolate also feature as favourite pastimes.

Jeff Allen

Jeff plays ultimate frisbee and enjoys sports in general, he also likes the latest gadgets and seeing what technology has to offer. He has a degree in computer science with 5 plus years experience. Jeff develops software solutions that help organisations run more effectively.

Ian Steele

Ian is keen on sport - anything cricket related, tennis and squash. He has recently acquired a granddaughter with whom he is besotted. Ian’s professional background is technical related, servicing computer mainframes and smaller computers, some with the power of a modern calculator and yet the size of a fridge; this took him to Papua New Guinea for 5 years. Ian’s role at Ergo: working with Spare Parts Direct.

Rebecca Matheson

Rebecca works a few days a week for Ergo Consulting in admin, reception, running the websites and any internal design work. She is currently in her second year of Communication Design at Swinburne University and otherwise enjoys blogging, reading and being newly married.

Christer Antilla

When he’s not at work you can find Christer enjoying outdoor activities like mountain biking, hiking, rock climbing and camping. Christer studied economics, organisation theory and marketing at Lulea Technical University, worked with IT-System Support and IT-Systems Administration for the Swedish Road Administration and moved on to work as a IT-Systems Administrator and Developer for the Swedish Air force. He has worked for 3.5 years at Telstra developing and perfecting work management systems for Satellite, Mobile, Wireless broadband and telephony installations.

David Speed

David enjoys playing cricket and watching sport. He studied Multimedia Software Development at Swinburne University and his contribution to Ergo is that of a software developer working onsite at Telstra.

Chris Rogers

Chris enjoys spending time with his family - and with four young children, his house is never boring. His favourite leisure times usually involve some combination of outdoor life, friends, food, astronomy, science fiction and sport, with volleyball and squash among his regular sporting hobbies. Extensive travel through Europe, Africa and the Middle East sparked in him a fascination with other cultures and history.

Chris completed a degree in computer science in 1995, and in his subsequent years as a software developer, he has maintained and fueled a hunger for life-long, ongoing learning. He has gained significant experience in software analysis and design as well as implementing windows, linux and web applications. He revels in the creation of quality software and in both process and team improvement.

Chris Coppin

Chris is a fan of Sci-Fi books, his favourite authors include Larry Niven, Richard K Morgan, Terry Pratchett and Robin Hobb. He enjoys all things Tech, and is a recent Mac convert. He loves spending time with his family and friends.

Chris has extensive experience with SQL Server and loves working on web technologies and solving business problems.

Matt Morrison

Matt’s “can do” attitude has brought a delivery focus to an extensive range of web sites and web applications. With 8 years of experience in the web site industry, he has a track record of producing unique websites with a focus on user experience. His technical background is complemented by a desire to listen and understand. Having worked primarily in small business, he has experience across a wide range of industries and business types. His technical background includes Mathematics and Geography with an honours degree in Science.

On Saturdays Matt heads to the footy field for some respite. His family claim the rest of his week-end which includes coffee drinking in Oakleigh and playing music at home.

Mohan Bhagwandas

Mohan joined the Ergo team in March 2008. He worked for many years in the IT industry as a business and marketing consultant in Australia and around the world. Prior to that, he worked for Initiatives of Change, an organisation engaged in International Trust Building, and was involved in high level consulting and advisory work on strategy and change management at a business and political level, specializing in conflict resolution in international affairs. Mohan brings his significant experience to help grow Ergo’s ‘Transformational Leadership’ and ‘Organisational Regeneration’ services. Currently he also devotes some of his time to coordinate Caux Initiatives for Business, a program that focuses on building “Trust and Integrity” in business. He is passionate about cricket, enjoys body-boarding at Fairhaven beach, loves reading six books at one time and has not given up learning to play the Tabla!

Mark Micallef

Mark enjoys the arts and adventure and keeps busy with interests in photography, independent film, travel, and motorbikes, and takes the opportunitity to talk to interesting and unusual people whenever the opportunity presents itself. When not out and about Mark loves to curl up with a good book and let his imagination run free.

Mark completed a business degree majoring in Business Information Systems at RMIT and has worked in the I.T. field around the web and enterprise systems for the past nine years. His technical background is complemented by excellent communication skills and an ability to understand the needs of business users.

Shar Muys

As the founder of Speechless, Shar has recently returned from London where she worked with some of the world’s most established and renowned banks, accountancy firms and communication professionals, in the development of their internal and client communication.

Now extending this work into Australia, Shar has quickly established herself as a local leader in the field of communication training, working with clients such as BHP Billiton, nab, Babcock & Brown, Red Energy, KPMG, CSR, Melbourne Water, Boston Consulting Group, Peninsula Health, IBM and The Waite Group. Shar lectures at La Trobe University and RMIT Melbourne, Australia and holds a degree of Performing Arts [BPA], a Diploma of Education and a Diploma from Trinity College London.

Tracey Ezard

Tracey has spent most of her career assisting people in shifting mindset from one place to another. First as a teacher and school administrator, then in the hospitality and automotive industries, she has been passionate about encouraging people to find and celebrate the amazing things they have to offer. She works with leaders and teams to develop leadership capacity and improve outcomes within organisations. Tracey is accredited in MBTI and the Genos Emotional Intelligence instrument, and draws from a variety of methodologies, including NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) to assist in the development of learning opportunities for her clients. Tracey also uses graphic facilitation as a means of capturing group discussions, action plans and strategic conversations.

Murali Neelamegam

Murali is a dynamic and experienced business psychologist specialising in transformational leadership and management development, organisational development, cross-cultural/diversity management and strategic change.

His primary focus is on personal, group and organisational transformation. Before moving into freelance consulting, he was responsible for developing and implementing Change Management and Cross Cultural Management projects for one of Australia’s major telecommunication organisations.

He is a strong advocate for developing conditions that allow people the greatest opportunity to excel and contribute creatively within an organisation. He uses finely developed people skills to build personal rapport and trust. He works towards building innovative and entrepreneurial cultures that focus on recognising and utilising and growing employees’ talents and unique capabilities, valuing people and serving society’s needs.

Murali also coaches senior executives from diverse organisational cultures to strive for and achieve professional excellence.
