Meet the Team

Col Duthie

I am a facilitator; I enjoy bringing groups of people together to work through challenging problems or engage in conversations about the things that matter most. My background and experience in education, community development, social enterprise and business have given me an appreciation of how people work together to help improve their working lives and make a positive contribution to society at the same time.
In recent years the focus of my work has been in strategic planning and implementation, as well as continuing to support Executive Teams and Boards in their efforts to improve the effectiveness of their organisations.
I have loved learning from others over the years, an expression of this is the collection of books that form an ongoing resource for my thinking and work.
Maria and I complement urban living by experimenting with the simple life; travelling and living in a caravan as often as work and family permits. (www.duthie.net.au)
You can read about some of my musings and ideas on my blog.

Make the World Better Contributions

Ergo allocate a significant proportion of profit to a fund with which we support projects and people who are ‘making the world better’. Twice a year, our staff collaborate in a process to identify and select projects to support which are profiled next to their bio’s below.

Derek Winter

Prior to joining Ergo in 2004, throughout 12 years working in the IT industry I developed a reputation for being a problem solver both for my clients and within organisation’s I’ve worked for. The experience of working for clients across several countries and diverse industries honed the skills of analysis and discovery to get to the crux of business issue’s and an ability to design and improve new processes and systems.
This experience proved vital in my involvement in a number of start-up ventures and a solid background and training ground for my Governance and Leadership role at Ergo as a Consultant and Director.
I am focussed on continuing to help our clients improve their businesses through facilitation of better decision making, the effectiveness of IT teams and process improvement. In a nutshell, “Helping people and organisation’s get out of (unproductive) ruts into (productive) grooves”.
More broadly, as well as keeping pace with my 5 young children I have a passion to explore how values driven organisation’s can transform business to create a better day at work for people and a better future for the world.
